| w-inds. 'New World／Truth～Saigo no Shinjitsu～' Release Interview |

In front of 2200 people, just recently, w-inds. presented their NEW SONG "New World / Truth-最後の真実-", which just ranked 2nd within the ORICON charts and another seven songs for the first time in Japan. At the end of the show as Ryohei's (25) surprise, a 41 centimeter Birthday cake was given to Keita and Ryuichi, who had both turned 24 on December 16th and 17th. The two of them were greatly moved by this unexpected happening. With another 10 people coming up on stage, they received a number of congratulations, but Keita commented with a bitter laugh "So from next year, we'll be 'around thirty'. That makes me feel a little uneasy." Ryuichi on the other hand said "I'll see it positively - I'm still 24!" The first celebration of 2010 for w-inds. is going to be the release of their LIVE DVD filmed during their Hong Kong performance. Don't miss it!

The Visual-Kei Band "BugLug" which refused to show their faces and gathered a lot of attention with it, has eventually revealed themselves on December 19th.
The four band members are:
Vocalist Issei (ex-カルト(cult)
Guitarist Yuu (ex-Night baLon→Ruvie)
Guitarist Kazuki (ex-Ruvie)
Bassist Tsubame (ex-Lover Berry→Ruvie)
On their official Site it has been announced that they are going to release their first Mini-Album „SUPER NOVA" on January 27th as a special edition and a regular edition, with the option to attend their One-Man show on March 6th (Saturday) at Shibuya Club asia for free, when buying both versions.

Earlier this month, Oricon conducted several special year-end surveys. One question was "Which drama do you want to be made into a movie?" 1,000 men and women between the ages of 10 and 49 participated, and answers were limited to series aired this year on a commercial network.

SMAP is going to perform several pieces of music of Michael Jackson, the king of POP died suddenly in June 2009, on The 60th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen/第６０回ＮＨＫ紅白歌合戦. As known, SMAP members met and performed with Michael Jackson on the program 'SMAP X SMAP' of June 5th, 2006. Nakai Masahiro, the leader of the group, was invited as the only Japanese to attend the world premiere ceremony of the posthumous film 'Michael Jackson THIS IS IT' held in Los Angeles, USA in October. SMAP is said to perform the hit songs of Michael such as 'Thriller' and 'BEAT IT'.

| Tokyo Midtown park now popular dating spot thanks to Kusanagi |

TOKYO — A “crime scene” in Roppongi has turned into a dating spot for couples, decorated with illuminations for Christmas and New Year’s. Eight months have passed since policemen dragged away SMAP member Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, found naked, drunk and shouting in the middle of the night. For a while after the incident, many had flocked to the park out of curiosity, but now Hinokicho Park has upgraded itself into a fashionable hot spot for couples who come to see the elaborate nighttime Christmas illuminations – not to mention the die-hard fans, including those who travel all the way from Korea where the Japanese idol is popular. The bar, where Kusanagi got himself thoroughly intoxicated, was also packed with curious customers at the time. The owner reflects that the bar had been open for only a month back then, and had difficulty accommodating the number of people wanting to wine and dine where Kusanagi’s memorable night began. It appears that there still are plenty of fans who take pictures posing at the bar or the park bench where Kusanagi ostensibly sat, and upload the images to various blogs. As for Kusanagi, he is scheduled to appear in this year’s NHK’s “Kohaku” program with his fellow SMAP members and will play the leading role in a film to be released in 2011. Back on track with his career, the bad experience has obviously been put behind him.

| Kato Seishiro & Ohashi Nozomi head up Kodomo Kouhaku |

This year's Kouhaku Uta Gassen will feature a special children's segment called Kodomo Kouhaku with popular child stars Kato Seishiro (8) leading the white team and Ohashi Nozomi (10) leading red.
This is Nozomi's second appearance on Kouhaku. She said, "I didn't think I'd get to be on again this year. Seishiro and I will do our best." Seishiro commented, "Every year on the 31st I watch Kouhaku with my family over dinner. I've always wanted to be on the show so I'm really happy."
When they gave their impressions of each other Nozomi said about Seishiro, "He's so cute and tiny." He appeared to be a little hurt being called tiny but he still complimented her and said she was cute.
Four child acts will perform. For the red team Nozomi will perform a medley of "Non-chan kumo ni noru" and "Gaku ue no Ponyo," and her teammate, 11-year-old enka singer Sakura Maya will perform her song "Tairyou Matsuri."
For white, Seishiro will be singing "Katsuobushi dayo jinsei wa" and Johnny's Jr. group Snow Prince Gasshoudan will perform "Snow Prince," the theme song to the film Snow Prince: Kinjirareta Koi no Melody, which stars group member Morimoto Shintaro.
Ryotsu Kankichi, or Ryo-san, a character played by Katori Shingo of SMAP in the summer drama Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Koen-mae Hashutsujo (Kochikame), will be the judge.

Namie Amuro's (32) first original album in 2-and-a-half years [PAST<FUTURE] attained #1 in its first week of sales. With this, she has become the first female singer ever to attain a #1 original album across 3 'generations' in her teens, twenties and thirties.
Namie attained #1 in her teens with albums such as [DANCE TRACKS VOL 1] (1995), and in her twenties with [GENIUS 2000] etc. The current album [PAST<FUTURE] is her 6th #1 original album. [PAST<FUTURE] sold 331,000 copies in its first week, beating her previous original album [PLAY]'s (released June 2007) first-week sales of 251,000. It's been 9 years and 11 months since an original album released by her has sold more than 300,000 copies in its first week.

Earlier in November, it was reported that TaeYang will be working with Thelma Aoyama for a track called "Fall In Love" off her new album. Japanese pop singer, Thelma Aoyama has recently performed "Fall In Love," and guess whose voice was heard on the track?
TaeYang was not present at the fan meeting when Thelma Aoyama performed the song, but watching the performance, you will be able to hear his voice.
Thelma Aoyama's album will be released on January 27, 2010. Like Thelma, TaeYang is currently working on an album of his own, his second solo album. This album will be called REAL and as of now, the release date has not been confirmed or announced.
The song is quite catchy and I find myself replaying the performance. TaeYang makes a vocal appearance in the song at 0:59 and again at 1:46.

| Nakatsuka Takeshi collaborates with fashion brand Abahouse on new album |

After lying low for most of 2009, composer/producer/DJ Nakatsuka Takeshi will be releasing a new album at long last. Titled Rock'n'Roll Circus, the album, described as dance-rock, is a collaboration with Abahouse's core brand 5351 Pour Les Hommes, featuring its chief designer Okamoto Kouji and art director/VJ Araki Tsuyoshi (also of at-scelta). The album is due for release on January 20th next year. This will be his first non-soundtrack release since 2008's Kiss & Ride.

There are 130 sweaty “otaku” men in the basement of Ikebukuro’s Live Inn Rosa venue. Most wear shirts emblazoned with bright anime designs and bandanas on their brows to wipe away excess perspiration. Some women are peppered throughout the crowd, as are cosplayers and a few almost naked lads who have overheated from crazed dancing. High-pitched female vocals screech as an impossibly upbeat, saccharine tune blasts on the sound system, courtesy of three DJs dressed in full military regalia.

| "JIN" finale exceeds 25% |

The ratings are in for the popular TBS drama series "JIN." The show's final episode, which aired on Sunday night, averaged an impressive 25.3% in the Kanto region, setting the record for a television drama on a commercial network this year.
Before this, the highest rating for a drama on a commercial network was the first episode of "MR.BRAIN," which achieved 24.8% during its broadcast in May. However, despite breaking the 20% ratings mark with five of its episodes, "JIN" averaged just slightly over 19.0% in its complete 11-episode run, falling short of both "MR.BRAIN" (20.5%) and "Kyumei Byoto 24 Ji" (19.2%).
"JIN" was adapted from the Motoka Murakami manga of the same name and starred Takao Osawa (41). The show's cast also included actress Haruka Ayase (24), who co-starred with Takuya Kimura (37) in "MR.BRAIN."

| Mano Erina plays herself as spy in new drama |

Singer and actress Erina Mano (18) will star in a new drama produced by TBS. Titled "Mano Spy," the comedic series features Mano playing herself, but under the fictional premise that she is really an undercover agent from England.
In "Mano Spy," Mano is sent to Japan as a spy for the Queen of England. While concealing her true identity, she ends up passing a talent audition and becoming a popular idol. As a result, she finds it difficult to carry out her espionage duties.
In addition to starring in the show, Mano is handling the theme song, titled "Matsuge no Saki ni Kimi ga Iru."
Kazuma Sano (20) and Masamitsu Morita (59) have also been cast. TBS will distribute the show online starting on January 26, followed by broadcasts on BS-TBS starting on February 27.
